How to Make Your Holiday Travels More Enjoyable!

If you are one of the many people who will be making the exhausting Christmas-Day-Commute, or will be heading out on a road trip for an extended stay somewhere over the holidays there are a few things you may want to consider to make your life a whole lot easier.

Winterize your vehicle!

Snow tires are an invaluable asset to winter driving, and since the Canadian winter came early this year, you will want the proper tires to keep you out of the ditch. Remember, you want to be spending time with family, not money on a tow truck.

Plan Accordingly

There’s nothing worse than getting lost during a road trip - especially during the holidays. Map your route before you head out. Pinpoint areas prone to rush hour traffic and be sure to check the weather for snow.

Pack Light

For those of you going on an extended stay, you truly never need to pack as much as you think you do. When have you ever said to yourself ‘boy am I ever glad I brought 5 pairs of shoes for this weekend’. We have all been there, you think you’re going to need this and that, but ultimately they turn out to just be extra weight in your bag to carry around (which may turn out to be a good thing after all of the delicious Christmas food).

Bring Healthy Snacks

Christmas is this Sunday, so why not take a trip to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning and pick up some healthful snacks to make the long drive more bearable.

Reindeer Games

Road trips tend to get boring when there’s no entertainment. Having a few classic car games to keep everyone entertained is a great way to pass time! Try putting a holiday spin on the classics!

Charge Electronics and Bring Chargers

Make sure your family’s electronics are charged before you roll out, in case you end up needing to call that tow-truck… You also do not want to risk being in a car full of teenagers with dead cell phones!

Bon Voyage!

Enjoy your holiday travel and have a wonderful New Year!
